MUSIC IS LOVE – music from one heart

MUSIC IS LOVE is an international collaboration produced by Italian bluesman, Claudio Maffei, during the coronavirus outbreak of 2020 that brings together artists from Italy, USA, Germany, Ireland and Croatia. We released this song and video into the world shortly after the murder of American, George Floyd, in a time of great difficulty, fear and division threaten our communities. The music and lyrics of this song, written by David Crosby, Graham Nash and Neil Young in 1971, speak for themselves. We offer this collaboration as a message that the power of music to unite people in our shared human experience is more important than ever.

No Depression Journal of Roots Music – Featured Album

Review by John Apice – August 13, 2018

“There is not an inferior tune on this entire 43-minute album…The musicians at times sound like they are just seated around her in a kitchen as she prepares the meal and sings. That’s warmth in a composition… There is never a moment during her performance that her voice isn’t enchanting...’The Sleeping Lady’s Daughter,’ – quite in the tradition of the old Incredible String Band of the early 70’s, this could easily attract the likes of a Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris or even Dolly Parton…’Mirabelle’ is stunning lyrically and musically. This is what I seek out when I listen to so much music — that one song that just takes me by the throat and shakes me. This is it. This is the sweet milk shake; this is the moonshine one seeks…”

Folk Radio UK – Featured Album Review
By Neil McFadyen – Feb 27, 2018
http://www.folkradio.co.uk/2018/02/lucia-comnes-held-in-the-arms/

“Lucia’s ability to paint vivid pictures with her lyrics is one of the many captivating aspects of this album… Her sense of nurture comes not only from family and friends but from the land itself… In a decade of recording, Lucia has drawn on an impressive array of resources to explore the art of song around the world… Although there are songs here that have emerged from shadow, it’s still a journey into the light – and that light is a warm, welcoming glow. She opens Held In The Arms with a hearty welcome, closes it with a warm embrace and all the way through delivers assured, beautifully crafted, American folk.
