THE HILLS OF LIGURA is a single released during the coronavirus outbreak written by Lucia Comnes and Richard Mitchell (Nashville, TN). The video was shot in the Liguria region of Northern Italy during the 3 months of national lockdown where Lucia was staying as a guest and is meant as a window into the experience of quarantine. For 2.5 months, Italians were not allowed to go more than 200meters from their place of residence. The track can be downloaded on Bandcamp.
MUSIC IS LOVE is an international collaboration produced by Italian bluesman, Claudio Maffei, during the coronavirus outbreak of 2020 that brings together artists from Italy, USA, Germany, Ireland and Croatia. We released this song and video into the world shortly after the murder of American, George Floyd, in a time of great difficulty, fear and division threaten our communities. The music and lyrics of this song, written by David Crosby, Graham Nash and Neil Young in 1971, speak for themselves. We offer this collaboration as a message that the power of music to unite people in our shared human experience is more important than ever.
Nothing can stop live music from reaching you this year on St. Patricks Day. The coronavirus may have interrupted all my plans (travel, concerts, etc) but it’s not going to stop me from playing music!
